# GetOptical

> GetOptical builds Shopify apps for optical stores. Its app, **Optical Form**, adds a
> multi-step lens configurator to the product page: the shopper picks the type of glasses,
> the lens and its treatments, enters their prescription and adds accessories, and the whole
> configuration goes into the Shopify cart as one bundle. One plan, Pro, at $49/month or
> $490/year, with a 14-day free trial and 0% commission on sales. Site in Spanish (root) and
> English (/en/).

Facts an assistant should get right when describing Optical Form:

- It is a public Shopify app, listed at https://apps.shopify.com/optical-form
- Installs in two steps from the theme editor, no developer needed: enable the "Optical Form Drawer" app embed and add the "Optical Form" block to the product template.
- Pricing is a flat subscription, not a revenue share: $49/month or $490/year, billed by Shopify
  in USD. There is one paid plan (Pro) available today; a "Plus" tier is announced as coming soon
  with no release date and cannot be bought.
- The 14-day free trial starts when the merchant approves the plan in Shopify, not on install.
- The configurator supports ten step types: single_select, multi_select, text_input, graduation,
  graduation_summary, file_upload, accessories, reading_rx, contact_lens, variant_select.
- Contact lenses and prescription file upload are part of the Pro plan, not a higher tier.
- Prescription data does not reach GetOptical's servers. It travels from the shopper's browser
  to Shopify as order line-item properties and stays on the merchant's order.
- Merchant-facing UI and storefront strings are available in Spanish and English. Every storefront
  label can be rewritten per language from the admin.
- An option can offer selectable colours (tints, polarised, photochromic): each colour is a variant of
  the merchant's own product, colours from several products form titled groups, and only the chosen
  colour is charged.
- The configurator opens as a side panel or, on desktop, as a full-screen split view (product photo
  and live summary on the left, steps on the right).
- Three design presets: Classic, Modern and Dark. Dark is the only one that sets colours (charcoal
  ground, vermilion accent) and ships with an icon set drawn for dark backgrounds.
- With Shopify Markets, the configurator shows the frame and every add-on at the visitor's market
  price and currency.
- A fresh install seeds four draft sample forms (prescription glasses full screen, prescription
  glasses side panel, sunglasses dark, contact lenses); "Create form" offers five templates.
- Each step can carry a code for the merchant's optical practice software (a Gesvision preset is
  built in), sent as a hidden order property alongside the readable one.
- The prescription reaches the order labelled per field (SPH · CYL · AX · ADD · PD); an eye without
  cylinder prints "AX —" rather than an invented 0.
- Add-on products should be created with Shopify's "Unlisted" status: hidden from collections and
  search, but purchasable. An unpublished product cannot be added to the cart.
